One of America's 100 Best Hospitals for Prostate Surgery
Nov. 1, 2017 (Bakersfield, Calif.) – Adventist Health Bakersfield today announced that it is the only hospital
in Kern County to be named by Healthgrades as “One of America’s
100 Best Hospitals for Prostate Surgery.”
For the 2018 Report to the Nation, Healthgrades compared Specialty Excellence
Award Recipients as a group to all other hospitals and found: From 2014-2016,
patients treated at hospitals receiving the America's 100 Best Hospitals
for Prostate Surgery Award have, on average:
- A 59.4% lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the award.*
Additionally, from 2014-2016, patients treated at hospitals which did not receive the America's 100 Best Hospitals for Prostate Surgery Award are, on average:
- 2.46 times more likely to experience one or more complications in the hospital than if they were treated at hospitals that did receive the award.*
These achievements are part of findings released today by Healthgrades and are featured in their 2018 Report to the Nation. The new report demonstrates how clinical performance continues to differ dramatically between hospitals regionally and nationally. This variation in care has a significant impact on health outcomes.
