Heather Van Housen
Our Patient Care Executive, Heather Van Housen, RN, MSN comes to us from Adventist Health Ukiah Valley in Northern California.
Born and raised in Mendocino County, Heather has spent most of her career in the region, including working as a registered nurse at Adventist Health Howard Memorial in Willits, Calif. as well as the director of the vocational nursing program at Ukiah Adult School.
Heather first joined the Ukiah Valley hospital full time in 2004 as a Clinical Information Systems educator. She also previously held leadership roles as the director of Quality and Risk Management as well as the director of Education. In 2012, she was named the hospital’s Chief Nursing Officer.
Among the accomplishments that Heather contributed to while at Ukiah Valley: a professional governance structure; a Leap Frog Hospital Safety Score – Grade A two years in a row (2016 and 2017); and a Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center.
Heather graduated with a nursing degree from California State University Chico and later earned her master’s degree from the University of Phoenix. She also holds a teaching credential.
Her husband of 25 years, Jason, is a real estate broker. The couple has two grown children, Hailee, 25; and Tanner, 22. Heather is a voracious reader and enjoys swimming and the blessings of family and friends.
