Childbirth Classes
We're here to help you get prepared for delivery. We have partnered with Injoy Health Education to provide you with an engaging online childbirth education program. Our "Understanding Birth eClass" will equip you with birthing techniques so you'll be ready when the big day comes. Our class includes engaging videos, animation, quizzes and follow-along exercises and games. It is available 24 hours a day on any device with an internet connection, and you'll have access to our online material for eight weeks after registration.

Treating your baby with love and care
The love for a baby is so special. At Adventist Health Bakersfield's Maternity Care Center, every birth is special, too. Our caring and dedicated staff recognizes each family that steps into our hospital has different needs and desires for the big day. This is why we work closely with your family physician, obstetrician, pediatrician and you, so the birth of your child becomes that first moment in a lifetime of "baby love."
Our Maternity Care Center features:
- Nine labor and delivery rooms complete with a couch for the partner
- 14 recovery rooms, including a crib for the newborn baby
- Two surgical suites on the unit
- An infant security system to keep your baby secure
- Specially trained lactation RNs who visit every patient
- A nine-bed neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)
