President of Adventist Health Ukiah Valley Community Open House on February 5, 2019 in Ukiah
Ukiah, CA – Jason Wells kicked off his new role as president of Adventist Health Ukiah Valley (AHUV) by listening to providers and staff at an all-associate Town Hall meeting. In addition, he announced the hospital would host a Community Open House on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 5:30 in the Glenn Miller Conference Room of AHUV located at 275 Hospital Drive in Ukiah. All community members are welcome to attend. The intent of the Open House is to listen to community members and learn about their priorities and the types of services they are seeking.
Wells is already known throughout Mendocino County for his positive leadership at Adventist Health Howard Memorial (AHHM) in Willits where he will remain as president overseeing Adventist Health throughout all of Mendocino County. This includes Adventist Health Ukiah Valley, a 67-bed hospital, with clinics in Fort Bragg, Ukiah and Lakeport and Adventist Health Howard Memorial, a 25-bed hospital with a clinic in Willits.
“Between both AHUV and AHHM we have an impressive team of leaders which offers us the opportunity to create an even better, more integrated system that will help us to improve quality and support the growth and expansion of services here for our communities. My goal is to listen and learn first, then put together a plan we are all held accountable to,” commented Wells.
Wells has served as president of Adventist Health Howard Memorial since March 2017. Under his leadership at AHHM, patient satisfaction scores placed the hospital in the top 1% in the nation and employee engagement scores are the highest performing in all of Adventist Health. Additionally, the hospital has been notified that in early 2019 they will be recognized by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) for achieving a five-star hospital rating in quality, a rare achievement for a healthcare team. Under his leadership, Adventist Health Howard Memorial has recruited more than 17 physicians to the medical staff in the last 18 months alone.
Wells, who is passionate about improving quality, the patient experience and physician recruitment, commented “I am looking forward to partnering with providers, staff and the community to recruit more physicians to ensure patients can access high quality services they need right here in Mendocino County. I am truly thrilled to lead such an impressive team and look forward to building Mendocino County as a state-of-the-art and progressive healthcare destination.”
In addition to the Open House in Ukiah, Adventist Health is also hosting an Open House in Willits on Wednesday, February 6th at 5:30 p.m. in the main lobby of Adventist Health Howard Memorial located at 1 Marcela Dr, Willits.
