Paradise-Based Chiropractor Finds New Beginning in Willits

Recovering and picking up the pieces after a disaster can be challenging. But for chiropractor Craig Boyle, DC and his family, they have found the perfect place for hope and a fresh start, right here in Willits.

Dr. Boyle, a chiropractor with over 35 years of practice, has joined Adventist Health Howard Memorial, seeing patients in the Redwood Medical Clinic adjacent to the hospital. Dr. Boyle has been practicing in Paradise, CA for 11 years, until last year when the Camp Fire devastated the whole community.

“It was definitely one the most challenging times in our lives. No one is really prepared for that kind of tragedy. But I think we could not have found a better place for a new start,” shares Dr. Boyle.

Asked why he chose to be part of Adventist Health Howard Memorial, Dr. Boyle says, it’s not only the beauty of Mendocino County, but also the hospital. “We love the beauty of the countryside, and this is one of the most beautiful hospitals we have ever seen. The mission and vision of the administration, staff and providers is inspiring. The cultivation and use of organic produce at Roots Restaurant to nourish the patients, staff and community is wonderful,” he explains.

Dr. Boyle says he is excited to join the team and be part of the culture that Howard is known for. “The culture of working together to do the best for the patients and the family feel is truly special. I’m excited to learn how to best utilize the expertise and skills of each team member to help create a healing environment for all those in our community. When I was invited to a provider meeting, I was pleased how each provider welcomed me and how all the various players worked together to improve communication between each other and care of the patients.”

Dr. Boyle’s specialty practice centers on all aspects of high-quality chiropractic care, which involves a variety of treatment approaches and adjustments to the spine and other areas of the body in order to help improve alignment and movement, alleviate pain, and assist in the body’s healing process. “My care philosophy has always been choosing the best blend of techniques for the unique needs of each patient. I utilize both manual and instrument adjusting to insure the most comfortable and effective treatments. I also like to educate my patients about their condition and what they can do to accelerate and support their progress by using exercises and lifestyle changes,” he shares.

When he’s not busy caring for his patients, Dr. Boyle enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking and exploring the outdoors. He and his wife have raised five adult children, four granddaughters and seven boxers. “My wife, Sandy and I and our current boxer, Ramius are eager to get a fresh start in this beautiful community,” he adds.

Dr. Boyle graduated Summa Cum Laude from Life Chiropractic College-West and currently has an Advanced Proficiency Rating in Activator Methods, a specialized technique which utilizes muscular and neurological testing and involves instrument assisted manipulations of the body. He received his post-graduate training in Southern California and then moved to Sitka, Alaska where he provided chiropractic care to the community, including the local loggers and fishermen for 19 years. After this, they came back to sunny California to provide care for his hometown in Paradise, where his father was the captain of the fire department. Ironically, it was the devastation of the Camp Fire that destroyed their home and the Adventist Health clinic where he used to practice.
