Adventist Health Celebrates Completion of New Women’s Imaging Center with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

November 21, 2019 (St. Helena, Calif.) – Today, Adventist Health St. Helena & St. Helena Hospital Foundation joined community leaders, including Geoff Ellsworth, Mayor of St. Helena and Chris Canning, Mayor of Calistoga at a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of Adventist Health’s Women’s Imaging Center, scheduled to open in December 2019.

The new Center located at 821 South St. Helena Highway in St. Helena features a spa-like, tranquil setting for women who will feel pampered immediately upon arrival. They will be greeted by a warm and welcoming staff who will provide a heated, white robe. Equally important, women will have access to the latest in breast imaging, including 3D mammography, 2D mammography, ultrasound, bone density screening and biopsy procedures all conveniently located at one location.

Studies show that eight out of nine women diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history, making mammograms an important exam for all women. In particular, 3D mammography is proven to provide greater accuracy in detecting breast cancer. By taking multiple pictures of each breast in just 4 seconds, a 3D mammogram provides radiologists with clear, highly focused images of breast tissue, layer by layer.

The new Women’s Imaging Center is one of many steps Adventist Health is taking to create a certified breast health program that brings together a comprehensive solution for women’s breast health, from prevention and diagnosis through to treatment and follow-up care. This includes an expert team of breast health specialists including board certified radiologists who are experts in their field with years of experience reading complex images and spotting abnormalities. At the center of the team is a breast health navigator, who can help patients navigate the healthcare system and provide a proactive approach to guiding a patient through the process of a timely diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care.
