Adventist Health Castle receives Coronary Intervention Excellence Award
Adventist Health Castle has been awarded excellence in coronary intervention this year. With advanced facilities and experienced providers, its cardiology program continues to grow, proving its ability to treat all patients with quality of care. HI Now host Kanoe Gibson spoke with Dr. Ramy Badawi at Adventist Health Castle to learn more.
“I believe it’s the only organization that’s been given this award in Hawaii,” adds Dr. Badawi. “This places this hospital in the top 10 perfect for safety not just for safety, but also in terms performance, in terms of outcomes, such as your chances of survival of a heart attack.”
Dr. Badawi is an interventional cardiologist who specializes in catheter-based procedures for the treatment of coronary artery disease, heart valve disease and peripheral arterial disease. He is the leading specialist in coronary chronic total occlusions (CTO) and complex higher risk (and indicated) patients (CHIP) procedures in Hawai’i which offer an alternative catheter-based therapy to patients who cannot undergo coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery.
He also has expertise in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) which provides patients an alternative to open heart valve surgery and he offers endovascular solutions to treat patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD), claudication and critical limb ischemia (CLI) which provide patients with an alternative to open vascular surgery and/or amputation.
“Adventist Health Castle has worked very hard to provide the best quality of care on the island,” says Dr. Badawi. “You will get the best care here.”
