10,000+ vaccine doses administered

On Wednesday, February 17, Adventist Health St. Helena and St. Helena Hospital Foundation celebrated a milestone in providing vaccinations. More than 10,000 vaccine doses have been administered, either Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine from one of two clinics at the medical center and our mobile clinic at the Napa Valley College campus in St. Helena.

There have been hurdles and ever-changing guidelines, but we are pleased to be able to serve our community through it all. We are proud to have administered vaccines to those age 65 and older, healthcare workers, educators and members of our agricultural community. This work was made possible by partnering with state officials, the Adventist Health system and our counterparts at Napa County Public Health. The mobile clinic at Napa Valley College was funded through the generous support of the St. Helena Hospital Foundation.

Both vaccine clinics have been operated with a large team of volunteers, both from within Adventist Health and from the community. The mobile clinic relied heavily on Napa’s Medical Reserve Corps of physicians and healthcare providers. Through the volunteers’ tireless work, we have helped Napa County lead the state in the number of vaccinations administered.

“We have been fortunate to have a wealth of dedicated staff and volunteers who put others before themselves to serve with a purpose of taking care of our community. We have a tradition here at Adventist Health St. Helena to care for our community in times both good and bad, and this pandemic has given our team a chance to truly live our mission,” says Dr. Steven Herber, Adventist Health St. Helena president. “We are proud to play a part in vaccinating the community. The more we can support our community’s health, the sooner we can start to open the doors to our homes, schools, businesses and places of worship. We look forward to engaging and connecting again as a community.”
