Adventist Health Appoints New Rideout President

Chris Champlin, a health system executive with more than 20 years’ experience, has been named the new president of Adventist Health and Rideout, the organization announced on November 10. Champlin previously served as chief strategy officer for Dignity Health’s Greater Sacramento Division for six years and in leadership roles for the organization’s Central Coast Division for 13 years. He also has leadership experience in public health and health plans.

“Chris is an exceptional leader who knows our mission and our Sutter and Yuba communities well,” said Scott Reiner, Adventist Health CEO. “We’re thrilled that he’s joining our team in our high calling to care for our communities and improve health and well-being.” Champlin said he looks forward to meeting Rideout leaders, associates, volunteers, physicians and providers.

“Our Rideout team has a rich heritage of caring for our community inside and outside the hospital walls. I’m honored to have been selected to serve with them.” After earning his bachelor’s in health sciences from La Sierra University in Riverside, Champlin earned a master’s degree in public health from Loma Linda University. Champlin begins his new role on Dec. 6, replacing Rick Rawson, who retired on Nov. 5. Rideout Operations Executive Daniel Chibaya is serving as interim president until Champlin takes the helm.
