Podiatrist Joins Adventist Health Medical Office - Tulare
TULARE – Douglas Bluth, DPM, board-certified podiatrist, is now treating patients at Adventist Health Medical Office - Tulare. Dr. Bluth specializes in foot and ankle injuries, fractures, trauma and congenital deformities. He also provides preventative care and diabetic maintenance.
After participating in a medical mission to Ecuador as a young man, Dr. Bluth knew he wanted to pursue a career in medicine. “I changed my major from business to biology and explored different medical fields,” he said. “I picked podiatry because I could blend a medical career with a family-friendly lifestyle.”
“It’s rewarding to help patients leave pain behind and return to a better quality life and satisfactory level of activity,” Dr. Bluth added. “The inability to walk without pain, or even walk at all, affects a patient’s quality of life significantly.”
After attending Utah Valley University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in biology, Dr. Bluth earned his doctor of podiatric medicine degree from Midwestern University, Arizona School of Podiatric Medicine. He then completed a residency at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Houston.
He is certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and active in numerous professional organizations, including the American Podiatric Medical Association, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery, American Society of Podiatric Surgery, American Academy of Podiatric Practice Management, and California Podiatric Medical Association.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Bluth enjoys spending time with his family as well as sports, surfing, camping, fitness and woodworking. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
He is accepting new patients at Adventist Health Medical Office – Tulare, 2059 N. Hillman St., with a phone number of 559-605-0090.
