Patient and Visitor Masks No Longer Required at Adventist Health Tillamook Medical Center, Clinics
Changes align with similar state health decisions made in Washington and California
Responding to Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OR-OHSA) guidance, effective April 3, 2023, Adventist Health Tillamook will no longer require patients and visitors in our healthcare settings to wear masks. All patient and visitor mask usage will be voluntary, with face masks available upon request. Adventist Health Tillamook highly recommends that all cold/flu symptomatic patients or visitors wear a mask, following pre-pandemic guidelines. The Oregon Health Authority decision aligns with similar state health decisions in neighboring Washington and California.
In addition, acting on updated guidance from OR-OHSA, all associates and providers are no longer mandated to wear a mask, but they will retain a rule giving employees a choice to wear a mask. President of Adventist Health Tillamook, Eric Swanson shares, “I would like to thank our associates, providers and community for their commitment to follow Adventist Health and Oregon Health Authority health and safety guidelines throughout the pandemic.” Swanson continues, “I am proud of how we rallied to support our community in those challenging times, providing excellent, compassionate and high-quality care.”
Adventist Health will continue to monitor local and national public health conditions, which could require adjusting the related patient and visitor policy.
