CMS Five-Stars
Adventist Health Castle was recognized by the Centers for Medicare and
Medicaid Services with a five-star rating, a recognition only 10% of hospitals
nationwide—and just two others in the state—have achieved.
The CMS Overall Star Rating assigns one to five stars based on a hospital’s performance across five quality areas: mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience and timeliness and effectiveness of care. The overall rating a hospital receives shows how well it performs on an identified set of quality measures compared to other hospitals in the nation.
Bronze standard – Level 3 Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation
The American College of Emergency Physicians awarded Adventist Health Castle
the Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation (GEDA) for our protocol-driven
approach to providing geriatric patients with superior, tailored care.
The GEDA accreditation acknowledges that at Adventist Health Castle, we provide standardized approaches to care that address common geriatric issues, ensure optimal transitions of care from the emergency department to other settings and work to achieve geriatric-focused quality improvements.
Healthgrades Quality Achievement Awards for Outstanding Patient Experience
(2013-2023)
Since 2013, Adventist Health Castle has earned the Healthgrades Quality
Achievement Awards for Outstanding Patient Experience. The Healthgrades
awards highlight the hospitals delivering superior quality care and evaluate
hospital performance using objective quality measures, including clinical
outcomes and patient safety and experience.
Adventist Health Castle is consistently recognized as top in the nation for overall patient experience based on nine measures related to doctor and nurse communication, hospital cleanliness and noise levels and medication and post-discharge care instructions.
Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award
Adventist Health Castle won the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award
in 2017, the highest level of national recognition for performance excellence
that a U.S. organization can receive. To earn this honor, Adventist Health
Castle demonstrated continuous improvement practices for delivering healthcare
services, exhibited efficient and effective operations and revealed systematic
methods for engaging and responding to patients and other stakeholders.
Patient safety, patient experience, workforce engagement and financial performance are a few categories where Adventist Health Castle demonstrated exceptional results.
