Robotic surgery, close to home
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with a condition that may require surgery, you owe it to yourself to learn about all your medical options. Adventist Health Castle offers the most effective, least invasive surgical treatments available. Our program offers board-certified surgical experts leveraging robotic surgical technology with the state-of-the-art DaVinci Xi Surgical System for general and urological conditions and NAVIO Robotic-Assisted System for total knee or hip replacements.
DaVinci Xi Surgical System
Adventist Health Castle offers the community the DaVinci Xi surgical system, allowing patients to have their procedure and comfortably recover at home the same day. Other benefits for patients include less post-surgical pain, shorter hospital stays for inpatient procedures and a faster return to normal daily activities.
Although the DaVinci is referred to as a “robot,” the system does not operate on its own, and the surgeon is always in complete control of the instruments. With the surgeon sitting at a console just a few feet from the patient, the DaVinci system translates the surgeon’s hand movements into corresponding micro-movements of the surgical instruments. This system enables physicians to perform delicate and complex operations through tiny incisions with enhanced dexterity and control.
The system can be used for procedures as wide-ranging as gallbladder, kidney stones, and overactive bladder issues to infertility and cancer treatment.
NAVIO Robotic-Assisted System
Adventist Health Castle offers the NAVIO Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgical System for hip and knee replacements. The system enables surgeons to have a more predictable surgical experience with increased accuracy. Through CT-based 3D modeling of bone anatomy, our surgeons can now use the NAVIO System to create a personalized surgical plan based on a patient’s unique anatomy and to virtually modify the surgical plan intra-operatively as needed.
The NAVIO System is the first and only robotic technology that can be used across the joint replacement service line to perform total knee, total hip and partial knee replacements. Adventist Health Castle is the only hospital on O`ahu offering robotic assisted knee replacement.
