Theodore Zwerdling, MD

Theodore Zwerdling, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician and is the market medical director. Motivated by a desire to help those in need and contribute to the advancement of medical science, he has cared for children and their families for more than 40 years.
From newborns to teenagers, Dr. Zwerdling provides annual checkups, sick visits, school and sports physicals and care for acute and chronic conditions. He also provides pediatric hematology consultations for patients with blood disorders.
Dr. Zwerdling earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine in Ohio and a bachelor’s of science degree in chemistry from Hiram College in Hiram, Ohio. He completed an internship and his residency in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, followed by a fellowship in pediatric hematology and oncology at Stanford University in California.
Dr. Zwerdling is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics and in pediatric hematology and oncology by that organization’s specialty subboard. Dr. Zwerdling is a frequent speaker and panelist at state and national medical conferences, has published extensively in peer-reviewed medical journals and serves as a case reviewer for the Medical Board of California. He also was instrumental in the creation of the pediatric hematology and oncology fellowship program at the University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.
When Dr. Zwerdling is not seeing patients, he enjoys classical music, 20th century art and spending time with his family.
