'A' Rating from The Leapfrog Group for Fall 2023
Adventist Health Glendale has earned its 18th consecutive A grade from patient safety organization The Leapfrog Group. This accolade recognizes Adventist Health Glendale as one of only 45 hospitals in the country and six in California to earn an “A” Grade continuously since 2015. None of the 16 other hospitals within a 10-mile radius have more than two consecutive “A” ratings.
America's 250 Best Hospitals
Adventist Health Glendale has been recognized as one of America’s 250 Best Hospitals™ for the second year in a row by Healthgrades, placing it in the top 5% of hospitals in the country and an overall leader in clinical excellence. Healthgrades evaluated patient mortality and complication rates for 31 of the most common conditions and procedures at nearly 4,500 hospitals across the country to identify the top-performing hospitals.

a row. This distinction places us among the top 5% of all short-term acute

5-Star Quality Rated
Adventist Health Glendale has earned five stars, the highest-possible rating, through the Overall Hospital Star Ratings program by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) based on performance across seven quality performance areas: mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience, effectiveness of care, timeliness of care and efficient use of medical imaging. Only 5 hospitals in the greater Los Angeles area achieved this five-star rating.
Magnet Designation
Adventist Health Glendale is recognized as a Magnet-designated organization by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the highest and most prestigious international distinction that a healthcare organization can receive for nursing. We are the first health care facility in Glendale to receive this distinction. Less than 9% of U.S. hospitals are Magnet-recognized.
High Performing Hospitals in Maternity
For 2022-23, we have been designated as High Performing in Maternity Care (Uncomplicated Pregnancy) by U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in hospital rankings and consumer advice. This is the highest rating a hospital can earn in U.S. News’ Best Hospitals for Maternity Care ranking.
Get With the Guidelines®-Stroke
Adventist Health Glendale has received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines®️ - Stroke Gold Plus quality achievement award for its commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, ultimately leading to more lives saved and reduced disability. We also received three additional distinctions from the American Heart Association:
Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus Honor Roll – Awarded to hospitals meeting specific criteria that reduce the time between an eligible patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment with the clot-buster alteplase.
Target: Stroke Advanced Therapy Honor Roll - Earned by meeting specific criteria that reduce the time between an eligible patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment to remove the clot causing the stroke.
Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll - Ensures patients with Type 2 diabetes, who might be at higher risk for complications, receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care when hospitalized due to stroke.

Adventist Health Glendale is accredited by the The Joint Commission, an independent, not-for-profit organization governed by a board that includes physicians, nurses and consumers. The Joint Commission sets the standards by which health care quality is measured in America and around the world.
Comprehensive Stroke Center
Adventist Health Glendale is the first medical center in California to receive Comprehensive Stroke Center accreditation from DNV-GL Healthcare USA, Inc. By earning this prestigious accreditation, Adventist Health Glendale has demonstrated that it exceeds patient safety standards set forth by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Brain Attack Coalition and the American Stroke Association.
Joint Commission Certification in Joint Replacement
Adventist Health Glendale has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for its joint replacement program (knee and hip) by demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission's national standards for health care quality and safety in disease-specific care.
STEMI Receiving Center
Adventist Health Glendale is designated a STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction) Receiving Center. This designation, given by L.A. County's Emergency Medical Services, recognizes hospitals that are specially equipped and staffed for the rapid, quality care of heart attack patients.
Chest Pain Center
Adventist Health Glendale is one of the few accredited chest pain centers in the region. The accreditation is awarded by the American College of Cardiology Chest Pain Center to medical centers that combine evidence-based science, quality initiatives, guidelines and clinical best practices into effective care for patients with chest pain.
Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program
Accredited by the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer as a Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program. This accreditation is given to facilities who meet the requirements for patient-centered care and focus on improving quality and patient outcomes.
Blue Distinction Center
Adventist Health Glendale is proud to be a Blue Distinction Center for spine surgery, a national designation demonstrating expertise in quality care focused on improved patient health, safety and cost efficiency measures.
Pink Ribbon Facility
Adventist Health Glendale's Cancer Center is designated a Pink Ribbon Facility by Hologic. Pink Ribbon Facilities are digital imaging centers recognized as providing excellence in breast health paired with their exceptional commitment and support to the women of their community.
