Our Medical Missions
At Adventist Health Glendale (AHGL), our mission is "To share God's love with our community by promoting healing and wellness for the whole person." While this is especially important here in our Glendale community, we also believe that we are called to carry this mission to our friends and neighbors around the world.
To fulfill this mission, AHGL continues to support several mission projects in disadvantaged communities around the world.

Zambia, Africa
Plans are currently underway for a medical mission to Mwami Adventist Hospital in Zambia, Africa in 2017. This rural community is one of the poorest in the world and is in great need of medical care for tuberculosis, malaria, leprosy, cardiac conditions and malnutrition, as well as medical assistance for young mothers.
Noyemberyan, Armenia
AHGL and the Armenia Fund collaborated for the first time for a medical mission to a rural Armenian community in Noyemberyan, a small province in the Tavush region. A 31-member volunteer team, including AHGL physicians, nurses, support personnel and hospital leaders, provided free medical care to a small hospital and a population in great need. Over the course of 10 days, nearly 800 patients underwent physical exams, screenings and surgeries including cleft palates, hernia repair, gall bladder removal and scar revisions.

Over two days, nearly 400 patients were provided care for diabetes, hypertension, tonsillitis, ear problems, diarrhea and tooth extraction.
Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines
Over 50 volunteers from AHGL and our sister medical centers Adventist Health White Memorial, Adventist Health Simi Valley and Adventist Health Bakersfield, traveled to the island of Puerto Princesa, Palawan in the Philippines to provide medical assistance to the single free clinic that serves the 2,400 residents of Palawan. These volunteers provided free medical assessments, physician consultations, medications, life-saving surgeries, oral/eye/ foot/ear care and even spiritual care for every patient who visited the clinic. Over the course of 10 days, almost 2,900 individuals were assisted. Each family was also given a supply of pharmaceuticals, preventative multivitamins and health education to manage basic medical needs.
