The Heart & Vascular Institute at Adventist Health Glendale (AHGL) is proud to work with some of the best physicians in our community, with expertise, certifications and training in various disciplines of heart and vascular care.
Our physicians practice in a 4,500-square-foot state-of-the-art facility, featuring 10 exam rooms, a nuclear camera and a treadmill/echocardiogram room, all in one convenient location on the medical center campus.

Hed Ahmadpour, MDInterventional Cardiology
Dr. Ahmadpour is committed to developing and advancing heart treatments
so patients have the best chance at surviving heart disease and other
cardiac conditions. He is board-certified in interventional cardiology,
cardiovascular disease and internal medicine and is a fellow of the American
College of Cardiology. He is also a member of the American Heart Association
and the American College of Chest Physicians.
Edris Alderwish, MD
Interventional Cardiology
Dr. Alderwish is a cardiologist with subspecialty training in interventional cardiology at one of the best cardiovascular programs in the country. He also has extensive experience in advanced cardiovascular imaging and high-risk percutaneous coronary interventions, mechanical circulatory support and pulmonary interventions. Dr. Alderwish’s goals are to provide his patients with world class care and to advance the field of cardiology.
Eli Capouya, MDCardiac Surgery
Dr. Capouya is a board-certified thoracic surgeon who specializes in adult cardiac and thoracic surgery. His goal is to advance the techniques of cardiothoracic surgery to help patients get back on their feet more quickly. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Cardiology and is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Western Thoracic Surgical Association and the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation.
Vahram Ornekian, MD
Cardiothoracic Surgery
Dr. Ornekian is a Southern California native and completed his bachelor’s degree at UCLA. He is board certified in vascular surgery and completed a Fellowship in Cardiothoracic surgery. He joined the Advanced Cardiothoracic Surgery Medical Group in downtown Los Angeles with his practice dedicated to Adventist Health White Memorial medical center. With training in both vascular surgery and cardiothoracic surgery, his professional interests involve treating a wide range of vascular, endovascular and cardiothoracic conditions, including aortic aneurisms, lung cancer surgery, carotid stenting, IVC filter complications, dialysis access, and diabetic limb salvage.
Lawrence Robert O'Connor, MDCardiovascular Disease
The ability to give patients a second chance at life inspires Dr. Lawrence O’Connor in his work as an interventional cardiologist every day. Whether he’s providing superb cardiac care or opening a blocked coronary artery with a minimally invasive procedure, Dr. O’Connor first uses all available tools to thoroughly understand his patients’ condition. Pinpointing the cause of their cardiac illness results in a clear diagnosis, correct treatment and patients who come back to say they’re now living their best, most authentic life.
Armand Rostamian, MDCardiology
Dr. Armand Rostamian’s continued research and publication in cardiology means that his patients benefit from the best and most up-to-date information in the field. His particular training and experience in cardiac imaging enable him to understand his patients’ medical condition from various viewpoints and offer a comprehensive and efficient approach to treatment. In his practice, Dr. Rostamian is careful to give his patients time to speak. “We work together to discuss their options then choose the treatment plan that is best for them and their unique wishes and lifestyle,” he says.
