Rehabilitation and Physical TherapyPT and patient walking

Orthopedic rehabilitation at Adventist Health Glendale (AHGL) continues the process toward healing and recovery that begins with surgery. Highly skilled and certified rehabilitation professionals, such as physical therapists, occupational therapists and others, work closely with our orthopedic surgeons to design a personalized program that gets patients back to the activities they love as quickly as possible.

Whether it's sports, gardening or simply taking a stroll, we work to meet each patient' s individualized goals. The rehabilitation team at AHGL's Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation guides patients toward a return to mobility, flexibility, strength and stamina. Our designated orthopedic therapy gym provides our patients with the equipment and privacy needed during their stay on the unit. Specially trained physical and occupational therapists work closely together to provide excellent therapy services, including:

  • Therapy on the same day of surgery
  • Sitting program
  • Individualized exercise program
  • Walking activities, including stair training
  • Self-care activities
  • Recommendation of equipment for home use
  • Recommendation for further therapies after discharge (including outpatient therapy provided at AHGL's Therapy & Wellness Center)
