What to Expect

Depending on the condition of a newborn, he/she may spend days, weeks or months in the NICU. During this time, our team is available around-the-clock to help answer questions and assist in coping with the stress and anxiety of having a baby in the hospital.

Adventist Health Glendale encourages parents to spend as much time with their babies as possible while they are in the hospital. Nurses and other NICU staff can teach parents and caregivers how to touch, hold and bond with their infants, as well as provide more information about their baby's condition.

Adventist Health Glendale's NICU also supports breastfeeding and encourages pumping for mothers. Lactation educators are available to educate and help mothers navigate through the breastfeeding journey.
