Therapies Offered in the Central Valley
Adventist Health’s physical therapists provide therapy for a variety of needs and conditions. Our team takes a personalized approach to each case, ensuring your unique needs are met so you get as timely and complete of a recovery as possible.
Arthritis therapy
Our therapists treat painful areas with manual therapy and soft-tissue mobilization. We will design a strengthening and stretching program specifically for your needs, providing you with safe ways to control your arthritis and limit discouraging painful flare-ups.
While there is no cure for arthritis, therapy can help to decrease pain and swelling while increasing the range of motion associated with osteoarthritis. Our therapy can help you to return to normal activities and improve your independence.
Balance and fall-prevention
Aging can worsen our balance while standing, walking or engaging in other activities. Your initial evaluation will include an assessment of your balance and how to address these issues. Your therapist will assess your range of motion, strength, flexibility and posture to determine how these may be affecting your balance and how to improve your overall quality of life.

Our therapists take a whole-system approach when working with athletes. Treatment of an athletic injury includes therapy directed at the specific body part in addition to an assessment of surrounding joints and muscles. Having a previous injury may put you at an increased risk of re-injury, so our therapists will also screen for any movement problems that may be contributing to the injury.

On your first visit, our speech therapist will perform a comprehensive evaluation to test your abilities and struggles. We build your care plan based on your goals. Our speech therapists also perform video fluoroscopic swallow studies (modified barium swallow studies) to check the physical side of how you are swallowing.
