Gynecological Cancer

Gynecological cancers include:

  • Cervical cancer
  • Endometrial cancer
  • Ovarian cancer
  • Uterine cancer
  • Vaginal cancer
  • Vulvar cancer
  • Along with less common gynecological cancers

Prevention and early detection: What you can do

  • Schedule a visit every year with your gynecologist for a pap smear.
  • Have your children (male and female) vaccinated for HPV; the American Cancer Society recommends starting at age 11.
  • Know the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer: unexplained weight gain, unexplained bloating, menstrual-like bleeding after menopause.

Treatment: What we can do for you

  • Our highly trained gynecologists are skilled and experienced in performing a wide range of gynecological cancer surgeries.
  • In many cases, surgery can be performed with our da Vinci robotic surgery assistant, which provides greater precision and control for the surgeon.

Survivorship: What we can do together

Gynecological cancer can be a particularly emotional diagnosis because of its close ties to a woman’s self-identify, especially for women of childbearing age. Our Adventist Health philosophy of treating the whole person — mind, body, and spirit — can be meaningful and healing for women experiencing gynecological cancer.
