A. A Patient Financial Services Customer Service Representative will be
happy to assist you with any problems or concerns that you have regarding
your bill. You can speak to a live representative Monday - Thursday from
8:00 a.m. to 4:30 pm. and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. by calling

Q. Does Adventist Health
Mendocino Coast accept my insurance plan?
A. Adventist Health Mendocino Coast participates in most managed care plans.
If you have a question as to whether or not we participate in the plan
you have, please check with your insurer.
Q. How can I request a price quote?
A. You may request a price quote by by contacting our Patient Financial
Services Customer Service line at

- Insurance Provider
- Subscriber Number
- Inpatient, Outpatient, or Observation

Q. How can I receive a copy of my medical records?
A. If you would like to request a copy of your medical records, you may
contact our Medical Records Department at

Q. How may I pay my bill?
A. Adventist Health Mendocino Coast offers you several options to pay your
bill. You may pay your bill online, US mail, by phone or by visiting the
cashier at the hospital (located in Pavilion Surgical Services main lobby).

Q. What if I get more than one bill?
A. You may receive bills from other healthcare professionals. These may
include your doctor, anesthesiologists, radiologists or pathologists.
Each physician who participated in your care will bill you separately
for service provided. Questions concerning these bills should be directed
to that provider's billing office.
Q. Who should I contact if there is a change in my insurance or contact
information?
A. If you have a change in information contact Patient Financial Customer
Service at

Q. How will I know if my insurance company has paid my bill?
A. After your insurance receives and processes your claim you will receive
an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) explaining how your claim was handled.
The EOB will show amount of payment, patient responsibility and/or denials.
If there is a patient responsibility due, we will send you a statement.
Q. Will I be required to pay anything when I arrive at the medical center?
A. Upon admission, if you have medical insurance, you may be asked to pay
a deductible or copay depending upon your insurance plan. If you do not
have health care coverage, you will be asked to pay the full amount of
your estimated charges at the time of service. If you cannot afford to
make the payment in full, you will be asked to speak to one of our Financial
Counselors to establish a payment plan.
Q. Do I need to let my insurance company know that I will be receiving
services before I come to the medical center?
A. Insurance coverage varies between plans and employer groups. It is best
if you contact your insurance to discuss any pre-certification requirements
prior to your arrival.
Q. How do I know if my insurance company will pay for services provided
by all professional providers (e.g. anesthesiologist, radiologist, and
pathologist) involved in my treatment?
A. Contact your insurance company directly. Adventist Health Mendocino
Coast does not know if each professional provider is contracted with your
insurance company.
Q. How do I know if my insurance company will pay for the medical center services?
A. Contact your insurance company directly. Their phone number is usually
located on your health insurance card.
Q. Why didn't my insurance pay for some services?
A. Insurance policies vary on what services are covered under your plan.
Consult with your employer and/or health insurance company directly to
know and understand your specific coverage.
Q. What if I disagree with how much my insurance paid on my bill?
A. Contact your insurance company directly. Be sure to note the representative
you have spoken to. If an error has been made, request the insurance company
provide you a time frame of when the correct payment will be received.
If your insurance indicated the bill was paid correctly, request information
on how to appeal the decision. An appeal will allow the payment to be
reconsidered, however this is not a guarantee payment will be made.
Q. Can I still go to Adventist Health Mendocino Coast if my insurance plan is out of network?
A. In cases of emergency, go to the nearest emergency room. Your insurance
will generally cover the ER costs or will transfer you to an in-network
hospital once you are stable. For out patient services, you may be required
to pay a larger out of pocket portion on your bill. To be sure, contact
your insurance company directly to discuss.

Q. What information will I need to pay my bill online?
A. When paying your bill online you will need to know the Guarantor's date
of birth and social security number. If you are not sure who the Guarantor
is on the account, you will find this information in the Account Summary
section of your statement.
