At Adventist Health Mendocino Coast our physicians use a variety of tools and procedures to examine the stomach, small and large intestines, and rectum. Our team of physicians, nurses and staff have specialized training and certification to perform procedures to help diagnose the condition causing you pain or discomfort.
Our offers diagnostic services including:
- Colonoscopy evaluates abdominal pain, rectal bleeding, changes in bowel habits and screens for colorectal cancer.
- EGD is a minimally invasive procedure that examines the upper GI tract, including the esophagus, stomach and duodenum. This procedure instigates abdominal pain symptoms, including, difficulty swallowing, heartburn, or persistent and prolonged nausea.
Conditions we diagnose and manage include:
- Heartburn, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer and Barrett’s esophagus
- Constipation and diarrhea
- Chronic upset stomach
- Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
- Digestive disorders such as celiac disease and lactose intolerance
- Rectal bleeding/pain
