Family-Focused Care in Simi Valley
Maternity services you can trust for your growing family
The birth of your child is a day you’ll always treasure. At Adventist Health Simi Valley, we put the focus on you and the beautiful new addition to your family. We work hard to make sure your first hours together as a family are joyful and memorable.
The comforts of home
We put a lot of thought into our private birthing suites, creating an inviting, comfortable and homelike environment. Each room includes a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, a private bath and a sleeper chair for dad or another loved one. You’ll also enjoy plenty of natural light from large windows with views of the Santa Susana Mountains or the hospital campus.
Childbirth your way
Because your comfort and safety are at the center of everything we do, we let you choose — with input from your physician — how you would like your delivery experience to go. Adventist Health Simi Valley anesthesiologists are always available to provide epidurals for pain control, at your request. If you prefer natural childbirth, we will support you every step of the way.
The Golden Hour
The first hour after your baby is born is one of the most special times you’ll ever experience. We make sure families have plenty of time to bond with their beautiful newborn with minimal interruption from our team and from visitors. You’ll have unhurried time for skin-to-skin contact, easing your baby’s transition into the world. Studies have shown that this skin-to-skin time does wonders to help newborns regulate their heartbeat, breathing and temperature. This is also an important time for your baby to begin to learn how to breastfeed.
Celebration meal
You’ve made it through pregnancy and childbirth — now it’s time to celebrate! Our food services professionals cater a restaurant-style meal for you and Dad or another loved one, right in your room. You’ll be pampered with table linens, china, sparking cider and a mouth-watering menu.
Spiritual care
As an Adventist Health Simi Valley, we know the important place spirituality takes in the lives of many people. We respect all of the faith traditions of our patients and are happy to accommodate visits from leaders in your faith community or help you arrange for a visit from a hospital chaplain or other spiritual leader. Many of our physicians and nurses are also honored to have the opportunity to pray with you and your loved ones, if you so desire.
Breastfeeding education and support
As a designated Baby-Friendly Hospital, Adventist Health Simi Valley is a strong advocate of breastfeeding for its multitude of benefits for both baby and mother. Our physicians and nurses are specially trained to educate and support new moms and their babies as they learn how to successfully breastfeed. In addition, we fully support women who cannot or choose not to breastfeed.
Cord banking
Adventist Health Simi Valley offers cord-banking services for parents who wish to store stem-cell-rich blood from their baby’s umbilical cord for future use by their child.
