Nutritional Therapy
The dietitians at Adventist Health Sonora work in the treatment and prevention of disease using Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT). Individuals with a variety of conditions can benefit from MNT. Dietitians assist individuals in making behavioral and lifestyle changes that may impact long-term eating habits and health.
Medical Nutrition Therapy includes:
- Nutrition assessments to determine a patient's health risk as it relates to nutritional factors.
- Planning and implementing nutritional intervention that will benefit the health of the patient.
- Monitoring and evaluating the patient's progress over a period of time.
We offer a monthly Adult Diabetes Support Group, a quarterly Celiac Support Group, a quarterly Parents for Children with Type I Diabetes Support Group and monthly Diabetes Management classes.
If you are interested in Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) or Diabetes Management classes, you should ask your physician if a referral is appropriate. Patients are seen at the Live Well Be Well Center, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
