Adventist Health St. Helena submits data to numerous comparative databases for the purposes of improving clinical outcomes, reducing complications, and gaining access to national benchmarking data. Some of the registries/ databases which Adventist Health St. Helena participates in are:
- The Society of Thoracic Surgery (STS) National Database™ – The STS database is the world’s premier clinical outcomes registry for adult cardiac surgery which provides an analysis of major outcomes and process-of-care measures that impact adult cardiac surgery patients.

National Cardiovascular Data Registries (NCDR®)
- CathPCI Registry® - assesses the treatments and outcomes of cardiac disease patients who receive diagnostic catheterization and/or percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures through the measurement of adherence to ACC/AHA clinical practice guideline recommendations, procedure performance standards and appropriate use criteria for coronary revascularization.
- ICD Registry™ - establishes a national standard for understanding treatment patterns, clinical outcomes, device safety and the overall quality of care provided to implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) patients. As the CMS-mandated registry for hospitals that perform ICD implantation procedures, the ICD Registry plays an important role in determining the association between evidence-based treatment strategies and clinical outcomes.
- STS/ACC TVT Registry– tracks outcomes related to transcatheter aortic valve replacement therapy (TAVR).
- California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative (CMQCC) provides clinicians with nationally endorsed perinatal metrics and benchmarking data to drive quality improvement. The mission of the CMQCC database is to end preventable deaths, complications, and racial disparities in California maternity care.
