Each Thursday, we host our popular Farmers Market where we invite community vendors to sell food and organic produce. Local farmers grow and pick the fresh fruits and vegetables they provide themselves. Other community members offer a variety of healthy foods including hummus, yoghurt, corn, and homemade bread. Stop by to pick up groceries for the week or for a delicious lunch!
To help improve the well-being of our Boyle Heights community, Adventist Health White Memorial is one of the 51 communities across North America that have joined the Blue Zones Project. This project is rooted in the research of National Geographic Fellow Dan Buettner, who identified blue zones regions around the world where people live extraordinarily long and/or happy lives. Using the secrets discovered in these regions, the Blue Zones project strives to bring well-being practices to others. By participating in the Farmer’s Market, we use 4 of the Blue Zones Power 9. Learn more about Blue Zones here.
For Adventist Health employees, W@W bucks are available for purchase at the Associate Well-being table. These wooden coins continue our commitment to wellness by allowing you to double your spending money for fresh produce (up to $20 in W@W bucks).
