Juan De La Cruz
President, Adventist Health White Memorial Charitable Foundation
Juan De La Cruz is the president of the Adventist Health White Memorial
Charitable Foundation. In this role, Juan provides strategic leadership
to advance philanthropy to the next level; as well as building close partnerships
with our community integration team to be a leading force in the deployment
of Blue Zones in Los Angeles. The Adventist Health White Memorial Charitable
Foundation has a long history of focusing on the well-being of the Boyle
Heights neighborhood in Los Angeles. In his previous role as the Senior
Vice President of Community Development for the YMCA of Metropolitan Los
Angeles; Juan led an incredible fundraising effort in 2020 with the collaboration
of all 26 YMCA’s in the association resulting in $33million, the
largest fundraising effort in the history of YMCA Los Angeles. Juan is
a son of an immigrant father from Guatemala and an immigrant mother from
Mexico. He was raised in Los Angeles County and continues to live there.
Juan is the first person in his immediate and extended family to graduate
from a university. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University
of California Los Angeles and master’s degree from Whittier College.
He is currently an active member of the Cal State LA Pat Brown Institute
Advisory Board, State Bar Board trustee, and Southeast Los Angeles Collaborative
Steering Committee Member.
