Medical Staff
The physicians at White Memorial are vital partners in fulfilling our mission, so we seek to create an environment where they can practice excellent medicine. In return, physicians share our responsibility to patients. They provide skilled and compassionate patient care and a sound education and training for our medical residents.
White Memorial's medical staff partners with our administrative team to reach for the highest standards of care. The Physician Administration Council, for instance, creates a venue for collaboration between physician and hospital leadership. Additionally, physicians hold leadership roles on hospital committees that oversee patient safety and medical education. Physicians also sit on all of the hospital's quality councils.
The medical staff reviews and tracks patient outcomes, develops standard procedures and shares best practices. Collaboration in this process is further strengthened by including hospital executives and governing board members in standing medical staff committees, which oversee physician credentials and review quality of care issues.
Our Medical Staff Office, located on the first floor of the North Building, is open Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Physicians can access the following services by calling (323) 260-5785:

*Medical specialty certification in the United States is a voluntary process. While medical licensure sets the minimum competency requirements to diagnose and treat patients, it is not specialty specific. Board certification demonstrates a physician's exceptional expertise in a particular specialty and/or subspecialty of medical practice. Certification by an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Member Board involves a rigorous process of testing and peer evaluation that is designed and administered by specialists in the specific area of medicine.
