Podiatry Curriculum
Our Podiatry Residency Curriculum equips residents with the tools they
need for professional success. In addition to extensive hands-on experience,
our residents also participate in scholarly activity and research.
Podiatry Curriculum Goals
We aim to provide residents with a vast array of clinical and didactic
learning opportunities. In addition to the hands-on facets of our program,
residents also benefit from:
- Monthly journal club meetings
- Presentations
- Research opportunities and scholarly activity
Podiatry residents also learn the most leading-edge surgical procedures
to address forefoot and rearfoot deformities. We partner with multiple
institutions to expand the comprehensive range of surgical experience
for our podiatry residents. These local institutions include:
Podiatry Residency Rotations
Below, we have outlined our rotations by year.
PGY-1 Rotations
Rotations include:
- Anesthesia — 2 weeks
- Infectious Disease — 2 weeks
- Internal Medicine — 4 weeks
- Podiatry at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center — 12 weeks
- Podiatry at University of Southern California (USC) Keck — 4 weeks
- Radiology — 2 weeks
- Vascular Surgery — 4 weeks
PGY-2 Rotations
Rotations include:
- Behavioral Medicine — 2 weeks
- Emergency Medicine — 2 weeks
- Endocrinology — 2 weeks
- Internal Medicine/Intensive Care — 4 weeks
- Neurology — 2 weeks
- Pathology — 2 weeks
- Podiatry at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center — 8 weeks
- Podiatry at University of Southern California (USC) Keck — 2 weeks
- Rheumatology — 2 weeks
PGY-3 Rotations
Rotations include:
- Active Life — 2 weeks
- General Surgery — 2 weeks
- Orthopedic Surgery — 4 weeks
- Physical Therapy — 2 weeks
- Podiatry at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center — 8 weeks
- Plastic Surgery at University of Southern California (USC) Keck — 4 weeks
