Our mission
The mission of the Center for Limb Preservation & Advanced Wound Care is to find people in our community who are at risk of limb loss due to medical conditions, treat them using the most scientifically sound methods to cure nonhealing wounds and help prevent the need for amputation. We do this by using a team of specialized physicians, highly trained nurses, technicians and educators.
The center measures and publishes our results in scientific literature to assure our care and results adhere to only the highest standards. Our goal is to heal wounds, save limbs and save lives!
The Center for Limb Preservation & Advanced Wound Care at Adventist Health White Memorial serves a critical need for patients at very high risk of limb amputation. A study by UCLA found that people in our community living with diabetes are 10 times more likely to have a limb amputated than diabetics elsewhere in California. By working with coordinated teams of specialists, we can find those patients at risk of amputation and treat their underlying disease before it progresses to limb loss.
