Inpatient Acute Physical Rehabilitation

The Inpatient Rehabilitation program at Adventist Health White Memorial is a 16-bed unit providing medical rehabilitation following a serious illness or injury. The program offers a special level of rehabilitative care designed for patients who need an intensive, coordinated approach to achieve their highest level of recovery and independence.

In the Inpatient Rehabilitation Program, patients spend most of the day out of bed participating in therapy or other activities. Therapy is provided a minimum of 3 hours per day, 5 out of 7 days per week. This may or may not include Saturday and/or Sunday. Rest periods will be scheduled as needed. The length of your stay varies based on needs and progress.


Referrals

The rehabilitation unit accepts referrals from discharge planners, case managers, physicians and healthcare organizations.

Our Services and Unit Features

Participation in rehabilitation activities, family education and training are vital parts of the rehabilitation process. Patient who come to our services can expect:

  • Face-to-face visits by the rehabilitation specialty physician at least five days a week.
  • A minimum of 3 hours of therapy per day, 5 out of 7 days per week.
  • Intensive family/caregiver training and education throughout your stay.
  • Home visits, or conferences may be scheduled for you and your family to meet with the members of the treatment team to discuss your progress.
  • A State-of-the-art therapy gym and latest technology for recovery.
  • A Furnished therapy apartment and full-service training kitchen set up to simulate the home environment.
