Surgical Care FAQs
Frequently asked questions about surgery at Adventist Health White Memorial
Q: Can I stay with my baby/child?
A: One parent or guardian may be at the bedside with a child in the pre-op
and recovery room areas.
Q: What is anesthesia?
A: Anesthesia is the use of medicine to prevent feeling any pain or other
sensations during surgery. At the Los Angeles Surgery Center, highly trained
clinical professionals use a wide variety of modern medications and advanced
monitoring technology to ensure that patients are as safe and comfortable
as possible before, during and after their procedure.
Q: What will my surgery cost?
A: Our admitting staff can pre-certify you and verify benefits with your insurance
company to give you an approximate idea of what your out-of-pocket costs
will be. Each patient’s insurance is different, so costs can vary
depending on the benefits, deductibles and co-payments established by
your policy.
Q: Can I make payment arrangements?
A: For your convenience, we accept cash, checks and other major credit cards.
You may contact our patient financial services department to discuss alternate
financial arrangements or to discuss concerns.
