Adventist Health Medical Office – Oakhurst welcomes back Pamela B. Rico, FNP-C
OAKHURST – The family medicine practice at Adventist Health Medical Office – Oakhurst is pleased to welcome back certified family nurse practitioner Pamela B. Rico. Following a year-long break, Rico has returned to the practice where she helps families attain their best health and provides expertise in women’s health services, disease prevention and healthy living education.
“It was always impressed on my heart to help people,” Rico says. “It is such a blessing to see the generations of a family, get to know them individually and help each one attain the best possible life.”
Rico earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and immediately returned and earned a Master of Nursing in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program. From the beginning of her medical career, Rico has been involved in extensive research, contributing to studies on various cancers at the University of California, Los Angeles. Additionally, she has served in clinical instruction positions at California State University, Fresno.
Rico aims to be an advocate for her patients and invites them to ask questions and be involved in the decision-making process to address their concerns.
“They have a say in everything,” Rico says. “Honesty is always appreciated, and they will be treated the same no matter their background.”
When not caring for patients, Rico enjoys spending time with her husband and two adult children. An avid photographer and mixed media artist, she has a special interest in astrophotography and capturing images of planets, nebulas and deep space.
