5 ways to spread hope without spreading germs
With the closure of many businesses, schools and places of worship, it’s easy to feel isolated and anxious during this time.
But with today’s technology, it’s never been easier to connect with each other and spread hope without spreading germs. Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Email, text, phone or video call: There are so many ways we can get in touch with our loved ones through technology. Whether they’re across the country or just across town, parents, grandparents, friends, aunts, uncles and cousins will appreciate a message or video call.
- Use social media to spread positivity: A cute video of your cat might be exactly what someone needs to see right now. Get creative and use social media to spread positivity among your friend group.
- Support small businesses: Even if your favorite family-owned restaurant is closed, you can still support them by purchasing a gift card. Many local businesses have gift cards you can buy online without even leaving your house—you can e-gift them to someone who needs a boost or save them to use later.
- Stream a worship service: Many places of worship live-stream or record their services. You can attend “home church” as a family or on your own. Or find a playlist that brings you peace and spend some time in spiritual self-care.
- Be there for someone else: Even if you are feeling anxious or scared, it doesn’t mean you can’t provide hope for someone else who’s feeling anxious too. Let them know you’re thinking of them.
