Adventist Health and Rideout President Rick Rawson to retire Oct. 31
MARYSVILLE – Rick Rawson, who led the Adventist Health and Rideout healthcare team through their transition to Adventist Health, has decided to retire Oct. 31 after 38 years in healthcare, he announced today.
“It has been a tremendous honor to serve our team and community these past three years,” Rawson said. “I’ve been so impressed with this community’s commitment to making a difference and caring for others.”
Rawson and his team dramatically improved patient safety since he took the helm in 2018, helped to re-establish services in Butte County after the Camp Fire and served on the front lines of COVID-19 care during the pandemic and vaccination efforts. To enhance care within the Yuba-Sutter community, the Rideout team established the Adventist Health Heart and Vascular Center; expanded cardiovascular, cancer and bariatric care; and added electrophysiology, urgent care and pain care services, among other projects.
Rawson previously served as president of Adventist Health Feather River in Paradise, California, and in leadership roles in 10 other Adventist Health communities throughout California. In addition, he served as CEO of Loma Linda University Medical Center-Murrieta and senior vice president for strategic planning for Loma Linda University Health. He also co-founded HC2 Strategies Inc., a consulting company, and is a certified executive coach as well as an associate clinical professor and executive in residence for the Loma Linda University School of Public Health.

Creating a smooth leadership transition for Adventist Health and Rideout is a top priority for Adventist Health, Jahn said, adding that the transition plan will build on the foundation and vision that Rawson and his team have created in Sutter and Yuba counties.
