Hanford and Tulare Family Residency programs announce new residents on Match Day
The Adventist Health Hanford and Adventist Health Tulare Family Residency programs are thrilled to announce the addition of 12 new residents, who will begin their graduate medical education at Adventist Health in the Central Valley this year.
Following months of interviews, the residents were informed of their placement on Match Day on March 19. The residents who will form the residency class of 2024 in Hanford and Tulare are the following:
Adventist Health Hanford Family Medicine Residency
- Harkomal Kaur, MD, Ross University of Medicine
- Tahmores Matin, MD, Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara
- Linha Mohammed, MD, University of Sharjah
- Youstina Morkos, MD, South Valley University, Sohag Branch
- Khaing Khaing Win, MD, Institute of Medicine II
Adventist Health Tulare Family Medicine Residency
- John Asenjo, DO, Tour College of Osteopathic Medicine – New York
- Joel Asunto, MD, Saba University School of Medicine
- Shiveta Cherwoo, MD, Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences
- Joseph Maddela, MD, American University of Integrative Sciences School of Medicine
- Melody Nameni, DO, Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine
- Christopher Terzian, MD, St. George’s University
As residents of the Adventist Health Hanford and Tulare Family Medicine Residency programs, they will receive direct, hands-on training to become expert and confident family medicine physicians. Their three-year curriculum will enable them to care for local patients as they complete clinical rotations at our hospitals and medical offices.
Additionally, both residency programs have been awarded a combined $825,000 grant from CalMedForce, which provides funding to graduate medical education programs around the state through voter-approved Proposition 56 tobacco tax revenues. The Hanford and Tulare residency programs were recognized for their commitment to the education of future physicians and the care of underserved rural communities.
The new class of residents will arrive in the Central Valley in June.
