Healthgrades 250 Best Hospitals in America Includes Two Adventist Health Medical Centers
Adventist Health is celebrating with teams at two of our California medical centers as they are recognized as among America’s 250 Best Hospitals for 2023 by Healthgrades, a leading marketplace connecting doctors and patients. This achievement puts Adventist Health Bakersfield and Adventist Health Glendale in the top 5% of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance across the most common conditions and procedures. Both medical centers were included on the 250 Best Hospitals list for the second year in a row.
Adventist Health Bakersfield was also recognized by Healthgrades for excellence in critical care, pulmonary care and gastrointestinal care. Serving Bakersfield and the outlying communities of Kern County since 1910, the 254-bed medical center has more than 2,100 associates and 650 affiliated physicians.

The 2023 Healthgrades report notes Adventist Health Glendale as a top performer in cardiac, orthopedics, neurosciences, pulmonary, vascular, critical care, and patient safety. The 515-bed medical center, founded in 1905, is the largest medical center serving the San Fernando Valley, with 800 physicians and 2,600 associates.
