Adventist Health Portland receives Hope Award for life-saving organ donation rates

Adventist Health Portland has received the Hope Award from Cascade Life Alliance, a recognition given to hospitals that meet or exceed performance standards and demonstrate outstanding effort to support and achieve optimal organ donation outcomes.

Last year, Adventist Health Portland had a timely referral rate of 95.6% and an 85.71% donor conversion rate. This helped Cascade Life Alliance facilitate 628 life-saving transplants with local area hospitals.

“We are so grateful for dedicated hospital staff who recognize in the midst of tragedy, there remains hope — not only for someone in need of a transplant, but also for the donor family in the legacy left by their loved one,” says Marissa Eisner, hospital development coordinator for Cascade Life Alliance.

Adventist Health Portland was presented with a teardrop-shaped award, meant to symbolize the tears of love, loss, life renewed and shared gratitude for our efforts during this final act of kindness.
