COVID-19 testing at Adventist Health Portland
Reminder: The ER is for medical emergencies. Please do not come to the ER for COVID-19 testing if you have no or mild symptoms. Please contact your primary care or urgent care clinic for a video visit and referral for testing. Oregon Health Authority also has an online list of free testing sites.
You’re looking for fast answers, especially if you have COVID-19 symptoms or you know you’ve been exposed to someone who is COVID-positive.
Here’s how COVID testing works at Adventist Health Portland.
Primary care and urgent care COVID testing
Outpatient COVID-19 testing is available at our primary and urgent care clinics. Note: A virtual visit with an Adventist Health provider is required before you can receive a COVID-19 test.
Existing patients: Contact your primary care provider to schedule a virtual visit with your provider to discuss your symptoms or exposure. If testing is appropriate, your provider will get you scheduled.
New Patients: Contact one of our urgent care clinics to schedule a virtual visit. One of our providers will meet with you by video or phone to go over your symptoms or exposure. If testing is appropriate, the provider will arrange your testing appointment.
Rapid and travel COVID testing
We do not offer rapid COVID-19 testing at this time. We also do not provide testing for travel.
Hospital COVID testing
Patients admitted to the Adventist Health Portland hospital, either from the ER or for a procedure, will be tested for COVID-19 as recommended by the CDC.
Patients scheduled for a procedure must receive a COVID-19 test at our medical center lab 48 to 72 hours before their procedure.
No outpatient COVID-19 testing is available at our medical center.
