Pandemic Visitor Policy

Your health has never been more important. That’s why we are doing everything in our power to ensure your safety while visiting our clinics, emergency room and hospital. When possible, please avoid visiting or accompanying patients unless they are a minor or it is absolutely necessary.

  • All areas:
    • Minors can accompany an adult to their outpatient appointments.
    • Surgery waiting room is open.
  • Hospital: Up to two adult guests, age 12 or older, per day permitted for patients admitted to our hospital. Visitors under age 18 may not accompany patients into procedural areas or the operating room.
  • Emergency room: Two visitors with each patient may wait in the lobby.
  • COVID-19 patients: No visitors are permitted except when required for patient care.
  • Short stay unit and GI procedure unit: Two adult guests allowed during preparation for surgery and when back in the patient’s room after surgery
  • Laboratory, medical imaging and pharmacy: One adult guest if required for patient care.
  • Family Birth Place: Up to two support persons (plus a professional doula, if desired) for each patient during labor, and two specific visitors for the rest of the postpartum stay (not two per visit or per day; two for the entire postpartum). No one under 18 except mother and partner.
  • Primary, specialty and urgent care clinics: Two visitors for each patient.
  • Rehabilitation and physical therapy clinics: One visitor for each patient.

"Required for patient care" means:

  • Guiding the developmentally challenged
  • Helping those with limited comprehension or mobility
  • Interpreter services
  • Helping the hearing or visually impaired
  • Supervising a minor patient

For hospice and end-of-life discussions, special accommodations are available. Please contact the patient’s care team for more information.

Patient and Visitor Guidelines

Our commitment to providing safe care even during a peak in COVID-19 cases depends on the cooperation of our patients and visitors. For the safety of everyone in our clinics and hospital, the following protocols must be followed. Anyone who does not cooperate with these guidelines or the requests of staff will have to leave the campus.

  • A surgical mask must be worn properly at all times while in the facility, even if you are vaccinated or in a room with just your loved one. Cloth masks are not allowed. If you don't have a surgical mask, we will provide one.
  • No overnight visitors.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Sanitize hands when entering the facility, before and after leaving a patient room, and after masking. Wash with soap and water for 20 seconds or clean hands with an alcohol-based sanitizer.
  • If visiting an admitted hospital patient please make your visit brief.

How to stay connected

The support of loved ones is incredibly important to recovery. Please use the telephone and video chat (FaceTime, Skype, WhatsApp, etc.) to stay connected. We also keep tablets handy to help patients visit remotely with friends and family.
