Safety and Security
If you are at the medical center and need assistance, have any employee call the switchboard operator to have a security officer dispatched to your location on campus.
We offer a number of services to assist our patients, visitors and employees.
Escorts: Contact the security department for an escort to your vehicle at any time of the day or night
Lost and found: All lost and found items are taken to the security department located in the lobby of the ER. Items are logged and stored for 30 days. Items valued at $50 or more will be kept for one year. Security will make every effort to contact owners. Owner information will be kept private to match lost items with those that are found.
Vehicle assistance: Security provides free battery jumps and limited vehicle unlocks for your convenience. Motorists are required to sign a waiver relieving security officers of liability. We cannot work on vehicles with electric locks. If we are unable to get you into your vehicle, we will make every effort to find the assistance you need to get you on your way. We can even help you find your car.
Out of gas: Security will provide a small amount of gasoline to get you to the nearest gas station at no charge.
Security staff qualifications and training: Our security staff are licensed by the State of Oregon and are trained to the highest standards available. They have received training in nonviolent crisis intervention, hazardous materials, CPR and AED.
Emergency phone locations: Emergency call boxes are located at all building main entrances, the employee lot fuel island, back entrance to each of our three professional buildings, the hospital employee entrance and the cafeteria courtyard.
Reporting suspicious persons, vehicles or items: If you encounter any kind of suspicious activity in or around any of our facilities, please don't hesitate to approach one of our employees so they can get that information to one of our security team members.
Wearing ID: Our employees are required to wear picture ID with our logo at all times while they are working. Staff taking care of you should always have their ID on so you know the person who is taking care of you. Exceptions are staff working in surgery who have but may not display their ID.
Parking: We offer free parking in all visitor parking areas located on our main campus and our clinics.
Suggestions: Tell us what you think! We are always looking for ways to improve our service to our patients, families and co-workers. If you have any concerns, suggestions or recommendations, please let us know.
