Understanding physical therapy
Physical therapy is a medical specialty focused on helping you reduce pain, avoid or recover from injury, and maintain or improve your mobility.
We do this by using a number of methods, including:
- Therapeutic exercises and procedures
- Manual joint and soft-tissue mobilization
- Aquatic therapy
- Gait/balance training
- Mechanical diagnosis and therapy (MDT)
- Augmented soft-tissue mobilization (ASTYM)
