Lieselotte "Lotti" Baird, PT
Physical Therapist
Lieselotte "Lotti" Baird is passionate about addressing her patient’s specific needs with the best treatment approach and providing the ultimate in patient care.
Baird studied physical therapy at Georg-August University in Göttingen, Germany as a native German. After moving to the United States in 1986, she has worked a variety of clinical settings, specializing in hand rehabilitation and burn injuries, nursing home rehabilitation, neurologic rehabilitation and outpatient orthopedic with an interest in the foot, ankle and sports injuries. She has additional training in mechanical diagnostic technique (MDT).
Baird is a former gymnast and gymnastic coach in Germany and the United States. She uses her special insights into biomechanics to understand and treat movement disorders and pain. Outside of work Baird enjoys spending time with her family and German Shepherd, Nico. She also enjoys kayaking, gymnastics, dancing and camping, and she assists with judging baton competitions. She has a thirst for knowledge and is passionate about continuing to learn new things.
Ian Campbell-Groen, DPT
Physical Therapist
Physical Therapy is a partnership between clinician and patient. I believe is educating and instructing the patient on their injury, methods of treatment, and goals of rehab and interventions. I work with the patient to help them understand the benefits of PT as well and educate on tools and principles for lifelong improvement.
I graduated with my DPT from Concordia University-St. Paul. I recently moved from Minneapolis, MN. When not working, I like to ski and hike, why I moved out to OR. I also enjoy board games, movies and the Portland food scene. I also enjoy spending time wife my wife and 2 dogs.
Ashley R. Duvall, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
A former high school and collegiate athlete, Ashley Duvall specializes in physical therapy for orthopedics and sports medicine. At school, she played basketball, softball and volleyball. Today, she still enjoys team sports as well as snowboarding, camping and spending time with family and friends.
Duvall was pre-physical therapy at Walla Walla University in College Place, Washington. She received her bachelor’s degree in health science and doctorate degree in physical therapy at Loma Linda University in California. Duvall also holds certifications in aquatic therapy through the American Physical Therapy Association and is ASTYM-certified (a manual therapy technique that uses special tools for tissue remodeling). She is currently working toward certification in mechanical diagnosis and therapy (also known as the McKenzie Method) to better diagnose and treat spine and limb pain.
Joy Friedel, PTA
Physical Therapist Assistant
Physical therapy assistant Joy Friedel enjoys helping patients return to doing what they love. Whether it’s from injury, surgery or accident, recovery can be daunting and sometimes painful. Joy feels most engaged when she is connecting and laughing with her patients as well as challenging them in creative ways to make the rehab process fun. She works hard to ensure her patients feel heard and to develop individualized, compassionate and relevant care.
Joy earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Warner Pacific College pursuing a career in information technology and banking. She returned to school after having children to obtain her PTA degree from Mount Hood Community College. Joy brings with her experience in working with patients in a variety of settings including acute care and skilled nursing.
Joy is an avid hiker and recreational runner with a goal to complete the Pacific Crest Trail someday! She is a wife and mother who loves cheering on her children at their basketball and soccer games. Joy believes in giving back to the community of Corbett as a volunteer firefighter.
Yvonne Gardner, PTA
Physical Therapy Assistant
A background in fitness and massage inform Yvonne Gardner’s approach to care as a physical therapy assistant.
Gardner earned an associate degree in the physical therapy assistant program at Mount Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon. With patients, she uses a variety of techniques, such as mechanical diagnostic therapy, aquatic therapy and taping techniques. She is also ASTYM-certified (a technique that uses a special tool to break up scar tissue). She has worked for more than 20 years as a physical therapy assistant.
Additionally, Gardner is a licensed massage therapist, performing home and traveling massage for 20 years. Before her years of practicing physical and massage therapy, she was a certified aerobics instructor and taught both land and water aerobics for over 15 years. She currently teaches water aerobics and senior land aerobics for the Mount Hood Athletic Club in Sandy.
Gardner loves playing the ukulele in her community and with her church worship team. She enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing and swimming. She loves spending time with her family, which now includes two grandchildren.
Shane Peterson, DPT
Physical Therapist
Seeing his patients improve gives physical therapist Shane Peterson deep satisfaction. He is passionate about helping patients recover quality of life. With patients, he listens without judgment to each person’s unique issues and goals. Then he does his best to help them make progress toward those goals.
Shane earned his doctorate degree in physical therapy at the University of Washington in Seattle. He specializes in working with older adults with cognitive and balance issues.
Shane grew up on a small farm in Oregon. An athlete in his youth, he still has a passion for outdoor activities. He enjoys traveling and has visited most of the U.S. national parks and many other countries. At home, he loves making music on his keyboard and reading.
Sam Russell, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
Sam attended Nazareth College in Rochester, New York, and received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2019. He joined the Adventist team in 2020 and specializes in neurological conditions, orthopedic injuries and chronic pain.
Sam believes in customizing care to each individual patient and working together as a team to develop a treatment plan that works for them. He feels that movement is medicine and is grateful for the opportunity to help people learn how to heal themselves.
In his free time, Sam enjoys running, Tango and Blues dancing, yoga and watching the Portland Trail Blazers. He grew up in the Pacific Northwest and after living other places across the country he is happy to be settled back home.
Teri-Lynn Vance, PT
Lead Physical Therapist
Lead physical therapist Teri-Lynn Vance feels that sharing her patients’ rehabilitation process to achieve pain-free movement is the ultimate in job satisfaction.
Vance earned a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Pacific University in Hillsboro, Oregon. She has clinical experience in a variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, skilled nursing home, rehabilitation hospital and home health. In addition to outpatient orthopedic skills, she has extensive experience working with neurologic and leg/foot amputation rehabilitation. Her certifications also include ASTYM (a technique that uses a special tool to break up scar tissue).
A native Hawaiian, Vance has worked to educate other professionals in aspects of physical therapy. She worked as an adjunct professor at Pacific University’s Physical Therapy Program, instructing in wound healing, prosthetics and orthotics from 1986-1997. She has lectured nationally and written articles relating to treating older adults as well as and authoring a book and online course on Medicare documentation.
