Adventist Health Portland Sleep Disorders Center
The resources & testing you need to sleep better
If you are having regular problems sleeping then it may be time to call an expert.
The Sleep Disorders Center at Adventist Health Portland is accredited by the American College for Sleep Medicine. Each staff member is trained to perform diagnostic testing to get the help you need for a better night's sleep.
Our sleep center is fully equipped with private, freshly redesigned rooms that will make you as comfortable as possible during your test. During sleep testing, the activities that go on in your body while you sleep are monitored by small electrodes applied to you head and skin. During the diagnostic test, measurements including EKG, EEG, EMG, respiratory effort, oxygen saturation and body position are all recorded to give an accurate picture of the problem. All of the testing devices are designed to be as comfortable as possible.
If you or your partner complain about any of the following problems, you may have a sleep disorder:
- Snoring
- Holding your breath while asleep
- Gasping, choking or snorting
- Restless legs
- Have difficulty falling or staying asleep
- Sleep attacks during the day
Discuss any concern about sleep with your health practitioner and they will guide you if you need further specialized sleep assessment. You may also call the sleep clinic directly to schedule an appointment at (503) 261-4475.
