Community Investment
As part of our commitment to the health and well-being of the communities we serve, Adventist Health Tillamook makes strategic investments in local projects and programs that align with the priority focus areas identified in our Community Health Needs Assessment, a process conducted every three years in collaboration with community partners.
Focus areas
Currently, these focus areas include:
- Access to care — language proficiency, health literacy
- Economic stability — career pathways, childcare
- Housing — safe, affordable
Social determinants of health: While access to healthcare is important, this aspect only impacts up to 20% of a person’s health and well-being. Social determinants of health such as housing, nutrition, education, income, family and social support, community safety, water and air quality, among other factors, contribute to about 70% of a person’s overall health. To improve individual health, Adventist Health Tillamook recognizes that we must invest in community solutions that make it easier and more possible for people to thrive.
Adventist Health is committed to ensuring every person has the opportunity to achieve their best possible health and well-being. We strive to provide quality care for all, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, income, age, disability or inability to pay. We are actively working to reduce barriers to care and augment social and environmental factors to decrease health inequities and help all people live longer, healthier lives.
